Aliens Omnibus, Vol. 2

by John Arcudi

Spoilers might be present from this point on

In Volume 1, we learn about alien propagation, how the aliens communicate, and the plan to use them as bioweapons.

In Volume 2, we fast-forward a few years—5, 10, 100, who knows? I don’t think the period of time is mentioned, but we’ve got humans back on Earth, rebuilding after eradicating the Xenomorphs. Most of them, at least.

The volume includes:

  • Aliens: Genocide
  • Aliens: Harvest
  • Aliens: Colonial Marines

What I liked in this book:

  • The discovery of Royal Jelly and the impact it has on humans. Royal Jelly is obtained from the Xenomorph Queen, and when consumed, it enhances all human abilities, but it’s also really addictive;
  • Xenomorph android development;
  • More statements towards a religious side of the Xenomorph phenomenon;
  • The existence of some human-like Xenomorphs that are able to interact with them;
  • Different types of Xenomorphs that thrive in specific environments, like the one that was present in the oceans on Bracken’s World.

Description

This description is grabbed from Google Books or Goodreads
Many humans have died horribly at the claws of the Alien. The surface of Earth has been devastated to cleanse the beasts from our world. But the commercial value of this scourge has never been in doubt, especially when the special properties of the Alien Queen's royal jelly are discovered. Will Mankind once again risk its very survival as a species in order to sleep with the Alien?
